Fuego Open Water Challenge Leg 3 | September 19, 2015
3 days to go until the Fuego Open Water Challenge! And I am beyond excited!
I have been to several Aquathlon events but this is my first time to attend an open water challenge. Yup, that was me putting an emphasis on the word “attend” as I did not register and will not be racing. At least for now, I will be a cheerleader to my swim coach. 🙂
Whether you’re a participant or a support crew (like me), make sure to check out the event’s official schedule and race course map below from Swimbikerun.ph.
06:00am Body Marking
07:00am Race Briefing
07:15am Gun start Individual-1.5km ,2km and 3km
07:20am Guns start for Relay and Buddy
09:00am Race Briefing for Dolphin
09:10am Gun start for Dolphin Category
10:30am Brunch and Awarding
As mentioned above the event will kick off at 6 AM on Saturday. Since this is an open water event I have been hoping (and praying) all week for good weather. AccuWeather says it will be cloudy and partly sunny in the morning. Sounds like a good weather to me, considering how much it has been raining lately. I just hope this forecast holds true on Saturday.
For tips on preparing for open water swimming, I suggest you check out Swimbikerun’s article on Open Water Swimming: Becoming Comfortable in an Uncomfortable Situation and some related articles below.
